Quick Start Guide

Lets create your first Minecraft mod in under 5 minutes.

Setup#

You'll need a CreativeMode account and Minecraft .

Create Your First Mod#

Pick what interests you most.

Items#

Go to Create Items. Describe what you want your item to do. It can we a weapon, tool, armor, food, block, or custom 3D object.

Good descriptions include details about the item's appearance, stats, and behavior. What should it do when your right click? What should it look like? What are its special abilities?

You can upload a reference image to help make a better appearance. Click create and wait 2-5 minutes for your item to be created!

Mobs#

Go to Create Mobs. Choose a base mob - this is the model that will be used as a base for your new mob (you can change the behavior from the base mob). Describe appearance and behavior.

Good descriptions include details about the mob's appearance and behavior. What should it do when it sees you? What should it look like? What are its special abilities? What should it drop when it dies?

You can upload a reference image to help make a better appearance. Click create and wait 2-5 minutes for your mob to be created!

Structures#

Go to Create Structures. Describe your structure with details about size, colors, and layout.

Test Your Mod#

You can use Quickplay to test your mod. Click "Play in Launcher" on your mod page. If you have the CreativeMode Launcher, it opens automatically, downloads your mod, and launches Minecraft in a test world. This takes seconds.

Don't have the launcher? You should download it because it's the fastest way to test.

Refine Your Mod#

Is your mod not perfect? You can click Edit on your mod page and describe what to change. Then generate a new version. The original stays in version history. See more about Mod Edits.

Found a mod you like in Explore? You can click Remix to create your own modified version. See more about Remix.

Publish & Share#

Are you ready to share? Click "Publish this mod" on your mod page. Your mod will appear in Explore once approved for others to download. You can track downloads on the Creator Leaderboard. See more about Publishing Mods.
