Safety at CreativeMode
CreativeMode exists to help people create Minecraft mods regardless of their technical experience. Safety is foundational to that mission: we work to keep our creation tools, community spaces, and public mod catalog safe, respectful, and appropriate for a broad audience.
Our safety principles
- Safety by design: build guardrails into creation and publishing flows, not just after-the-fact enforcement.
- Defense in depth: combine automated checks, human review, and community reporting.
- Clarity and recourse: explain decisions, provide ways to report issues, and improve policies over time.
Moderation of mod creation
Mods created through CreativeMode are user-initiated, but the platform applies safety rules to prompts, generated outputs, and publish requests. These rules are designed to reduce harmful or unsafe content and to protect users from abuse.
- Content policy guardrails: we may restrict prompts and generated outputs that involve harassment, hate, sexual content involving minors, explicit sexual content, self-harm, instructions for wrongdoing, or other harmful material.
- Abuse prevention: we monitor for patterns that indicate spam, automated abuse, or attempts to evade safeguards, and we may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts when necessary.
- User responsibility: creators are responsible for what they request, upload, and share, and must comply with our Terms and other policies.
Publishing review and public catalog safety
Mods are not automatically published to the public website. Publishing to the public catalog requires a review step to help ensure that what appears on CreativeMode is safe and appropriate.
- Pre-publication review: we may review mods submitted for publishing for policy compliance and basic safety signals.
- Guidelines: creators should follow our Mod Publishing Guidelines.
- Takedowns and restrictions: we may remove a mod, limit visibility, or restrict downloading when we believe it violates policy, poses safety risks, or is otherwise harmful.
Code safety and harmful mod prevention
Mods are software. We use preventative measures to substantially reduce the chance that harmful code is created or distributed through CreativeMode. These measures include a variety of guardrails and systems to detect and prevent harmful code from being created with or distributed on the platform. Attempts to bypass these measures are strictly prohibited and will result in account suspension or termination.
Safety in online interactions
When CreativeMode includes public profiles, comments, messages, referrals, or other social features, we aim to keep those spaces welcoming and safe.
- Anti-harassment standards: we do not allow bullying, harassment, hateful conduct, or threats.
- Spam and scams: we may remove spam, fraudulent content, or attempts to phish or trick other users.
- Enforcement: we may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts to protect the community.
Reporting, appeals, and enforcement
We take reports seriously. If you believe a mod or user behavior violates policy, or if you think we made a mistake in a moderation decision, contact us.
- How to report: email help@creativemode.net with links, screenshots, and any relevant context.
- What happens next: we may request more information, take action (including removal or account restrictions), and document outcomes internally to improve future decisions.
- Appeals: if you believe your content or account was restricted in error, email us with the details and we’ll review.
