The Gold Key locks a chest so only its exact paired key can open it: right‑click a chest while holding the Gold Key in your main hand to bind it, and you must be holding that same Gold Key in your main hand to open the locked chest—off‑hand or inventory keys won’t work, and locked chests cannot be broken in Survival. If you need temporary access, right‑click a Gold Key–locked chest while holding the Lock Pick in your main hand to open it with full interaction for 5 seconds (you can move, take, and insert items); each use consumes one durability and the Lock Pick breaks after five uses, and the chest UI will automatically close when the 5‑second window ends. Lock Picks can be found in Woodland Mansion loot chests — each such chest has a 25% chance to contain one Lock Pick.
