Description:
Cursed Thread lets you permanently soul-bind one piece of armor to yourself — bind by holding the armor in your off-hand and right‑clicking with the Thread in your main hand — the bond is irreversible and the armor grows in protective power the more you wear it. The bound armor gains an enchanted glint and special tooltip, slowly drains hunger and very slowly loses durability while worn, and will never drop on death: the Thread quietly removes it from the death drops and restores it to the correct armor slot or your inventory on respawn (if keepInventory is enabled the item simply behaves as normal without duplication); only one piece can be bound at a time.

User request: Cursed Thread Mod Type: Item / Armor Enhancement / Magic Mod Description: A thin, glowing red thread said to be spun from the lifeblood of forgotten souls. When woven into armor, it binds that piece to the wearer’s essence — linking life and death in an unbreakable pact. It grants endurance and protection, but the bond slowly feeds on the user’s vitality. Features / Changes: Can be applied to any armor piece to “soul-bind” it to the player. Prevents item loss on death; armor reappears equipped after respawn. Each bound piece grants increasing resistance and endurance at the cost of hunger or stamina over time. Power deepens with continued use — the longer the armor is worn, the stronger the bond becomes. Overuse may cause minor side effects such as blurred vision, whispers, or reduced regeneration. Only one armor piece can hold the Cursed Thread bond at a time. Behavior / Functionality: Right-click an armor piece in the inventory to bind it permanently. On death, the armor instantly reattaches to the player but loses durability or “thread integrity.” The thread bond strengthens as the player survives longer while wearing it — tracked internally as “Bond Level.” Higher bond levels grant passive effects (slightly increased defense, faster recovery, or light absorption). Breaking the thread (by unbinding or full durability loss) removes all accumulated bond strength. Periodic whispers or faint effects may hint at the thread’s presence and hunger. Visual / UI Elements: Bound armor emits faint red wisps or glowing thread particles from seams and edges. A subtle red line appears under the armor slot in the inventory UI to show the item is soul-bound. Optional small overlay or progress bar could represent “Bond Strength” increasing over time. When durability gets low, the glow flickers and pulses like a fading heartbeat. Special Notes: Compatible with both vanilla and modded armor types. Balanced for survival or adventure modes — powerful long-term benefit, mild resource drain. Intended to feel eerie but practical; a constant reminder of the price of immortality. Future expansions could include cursed variants or items that sever, amplify, or corrupt the thread’s power. Edit v2: Make armor look enchanted when bound with the threadbound enchantment Edit v3: make item passively consume less durability and add an enchantment description to an item after binding. Edit v4: do not drop the bound item on death. Either keep inventory just that item or delete it on death and ensure it remains in the players inventory
