Description:
The Cognisphere Sentinel is a bindable floating orb: right‑click the item to awaken and bind it (consumed unless in Creative), and it will hover at your right shoulder and automatically target and fire at hostile mobs within 10 blocks. Each shot costs 5 energy and deals 20 magic damage; if a target survives the first hit the orb locks onto it and enters rapid‑fire, shooting about every 0.2s until the mob dies, the orb’s energy falls below 5, or the target leaves range—charge the orb by right‑clicking the orb entity while holding Redstone (one dust = +10 energy, i.e., two shots). If energy is under 5 the Sentinel pauses until recharged; normal cooldowns apply when not in rapid‑fire or after a target is neutralized.
Manage versions and create new iterations of this mod.
This will create a new mod based on "Cognisphere Sentinel" with your modifications. The original mod will remain unchanged and you'll be credited as the author of the remix.

User request: The Cognisphere is a floating, semi-sentient alien orb that bonds to the player. It hovers near you (slightly offset to the side), analyzes threats, and fires energy pulses at nearby hostile mobs. It’s not a normal pet — it learns, reacts, and occasionally disobeys. 🔮 Acquisition Spawn Method: Rarely found inside crashed “neural pods” — small, biome-dependent structures (think metallic meteorites with floating fragments). Activation: Right-clicking the dormant orb. The orb “awakens,” scans the player, and binds to you permanently. Visual: glowing neural lines connecting you and the orb briefly. 🧠 Core Behaviors Hover System: Always floats near your right shoulder at a fixed offset, moving smoothly with player motion. Occasionally drifts closer or farther when “thinking.” Targeting: Automatically detects hostile mobs within 12–16 blocks. Fires slow-moving energy bolts (custom particle and sound). Each shot costs small “energy” from its internal charge meter. Friendly Fire Logic: Recognizes your tamed mobs and avoids damaging them. Observer – Doesn’t attack often, occasionally scans terrain or mobs, giving “intel.” Unstable – Erratic movement and firing pattern, powerful but unpredictable. 🧬 Determined by how you behave: Fight constantly → Aggressor Avoid fights → Observer Stay near home base → Protector Die often or damage orb → Unstable 💥 Neural Pulse Overload (Special Ability) When charged (100%), it can unleash an AoE burst of energy that stuns or knocks back enemies nearby. Activated by sneaking + right-clicking the orb. Cooldown of 60 seconds. Visual: quick blue shockwave with digital crackle sounds. 🪞 Empathy Link The orb “feels” your condition: Glows red when you’re low on health. Blue when enemies are nearby. Green when passive. Occasionally whispers data fragments (text or sound) like: “Heart rate… rising.” “Hostile entities detected.” “...I remember... before the crash.” 🧩 Progression Ideas Upgrade Modules: Crafted from rare materials — inserted using a special interface block (“Cognitive Interface”). Targeting Core → Faster firing. Energy Matrix → More charge capacity. Empathic Lens → Shares damage taken with player. Phasic Core → Can teleport short distances. Multiple Orb Types: Amber Cognisphere → Fire-based, burns targets. Verdant Cognisphere → Heals player slightly when attacking. Abyssal Cognisphere → Applies Wither but glows faintly purple. Edit v2: when placed in game, does not protect player/attack mobs, does not follow player fast enough. Does not look like orb when placed. Edit v3: The sphere needs to shoot energy blasts at any hostile mob within 10 blocks of the player and be righclick charged by consuming redstone Edit v4: make the sphere use 5 redstone charge per shot, make each shot do 20 dmg to mobs. If a mob doesn't die within 1 shot the sphere enters rapid fire mode; shooting till the mobs dies or the sphere runs out of charge.
